Once, on a Saturday, September 23, 2006, I thought...

booked

Using a new id3 RF tracker tag, I start this new post.
  1. One book that changed your life?
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
However it wasn't just the book that changed my life. First it was the radio series. Then the TV series. Then the 4 books from the trilogy. And finally the long awaited movie.
  2. One book you have read more than once?
    Dune - Frank Herbert
Because I got Prelude to Dune: House Atreides after I got Dune, and House Harkonnen before House Atreides and House Corrino before that. So each time I used to go back and put the pieces back in the huge jigsaw puzzle of the Dune Universe
  3. One book you would want on a desert island?
The Hitchhikers's Guide to the Galaxy - Megadodo Publications
I'm not talking about the book written by Douglas Adams. This is infact, the wholly remarkable book published by the Great Publishing Corporations of Ursa Minor Beta. Because apart from the words "Don't Panic" written in large friendly letters on the cover of the book, it has something written in it for every situation. Even being stuck in a crack in the ground underneath a giant boulder you can't move, with no hope of rescue.
  4. One book that made you cry?
    Operating Systems - William Stallings
Because everytime I wanted to find out just what a process is, I had to read through 4 pages of mind boggling explanations that lead to nowhere and 3 diagrams which looked like a cross between one of Schulz's characters and a box of pointing arrows strewn across. Apart from which, every sentence had references given to other books and authors in the most irritating manner ever. (MQ1989)
  5. One book that made you laugh?
Justice League International - DC Comics
Now I know this is cheating one out. But these comics really kill! With Booster Gold and Blue Beetle trying to make the most out of every situation, its a real blast if G'Nort is coming.
  6. One book you wish had been written?
    How to use your brains
Because I come across many people in life who just don't use them enough.
  7. One book you wish had never been written?
None yet that I have come across.
  8. One book you are currently reading?
    Nothing right now.
  9. One book you have been meaning to read?
(Any of the books suggested according to my syllabus! Because I haven't got a single one yet!)
Actually it is The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown
And I still need to borrow it from some friend to read it. Because I've learnt that there's a different class to reading books borrowed from a friend. And buying a book from a bookstore can never match that.
  10. Tag five people
Gadling, CeeTee. Two are enough for now...
